START A COLLEGIATE CHAPTER

We are committed to providing a positive Greek experience for college women and are located on several campuses nationally. We are dedicated to ongoing sorority growth and development and are excited to learn more about opportunities at other campuses and welcome preliminary conversations with any interested parties.

Below are the interest group membership eligibility requirements and a step-by-step guide to bringing Delta Phi Lambda® to your campus.

STEP 1

CHECK TO SEE IF WE ARE ON YOUR CAMPUS

Use the Chapter Locator to check if there is a chapter already at your university.

If yes, check out how to join an already established chapter. If no, move to step 2.

Thank you for your submission!

STEP 3

CREATE INTEREST GROUP
+ COMPLETE APPLICATION

Interested women will work with the Expansion Team to recruit more women. If at least 7 interested and qualified women have expressed interest within a short amount of time, a formal Interest Group will be formed at your university.

After the Greek Office on your campus has approved you to charter Delta Phi Lambda® on your campus, you will submit an interest group and individual applications to the Interest Group Manager at interestgroups@deltaphilambda.org.

STEP 4

INDIVIDUAL AND INTEREST GROUP EVAULTIONS

We will review applications and conduct interviews with each individual within the Interest Group in order to get know you and the group better.

STEP 5

BID DISCUSSIONS
+ GRADE CHECK

The Expansion Team will decide who we will extend a bid, or invitation, to start the Charter Member Education process with us. Chosen women will have demonstrated shared values and standards of philanthropic passions, good character, financial responsibility, and leadership ability among others.

Before we give out a formal invitation to start the process, we will double check your grades. No one interested in joining Delta Phi Lambda® will be given an invitation to join the Sorority unless their cumulative GPA is 2.7 or higher. There are no exceptions.

STEP 6

COMPLETE NEW MEMBER EDUCATION PROCESS

Selected women will then be given the opportunity to participate in our Charter Member Education Process, which lasts between 6 to 8 weeks. The purpose of this process is to help familiarize yourself with our history, traditions, values, and prepare you to be a contributing member of the Sorority.

At the end of the process, you will be formally initiated into the Sorority as a lifelong Sister and a chartering member of your university's chapter.
