Join an Established Chapter

We are established on college campuses throughout the southeast, northwest and midwest regions. Chapters are governed by our national core values, but each offers an experience unique to their individual universities. Regardless of which chapter you join, you will find a supportive “extended family” excited to welcome you home as you begin the next journey in your life. Below you will find a step-by-step process to becoming a member of our Everlasting Sisterhood®.

HOW TO JOIN AN ESTABLISHED COLLEGIATE CHAPTER

Delta Phi Lambda offers interested college women an opportunity to charter a Collegiate Chapter through the Collegiate Chapter Expansion Process (CCEP). You will work closely with the VP Expansion to become an official Interest Group (IG) and complete the expansion requirements.

STEP ONE:

CHECK TO SEE IF WE ARE

ON YOUR CAMPUS

Use the Chapter Locator to check if there is a chapter already at your university. If not, check out the Start a Chapter page to learn more about how to establish a chapter on your respective campus. If yes, move to step 2.

STEP TWO:

PARTICIPATE IN OUR

YEAR-ROUND RECRUITMENT

We encourage interested women to get to know us through our year-round educational programs, philanthropic activities and social events. This is an opportunity to see our amazing sisters in their element, giving back to their communities. When you are ready to learn more, check out your local DFL chapter’s website and contact the recruitment chair for information on their next formal recruitment period.

STEP THREE:

ATTEND A FORMAL RECRUITMENT

Our formal recruitment is a two-week period at the beginning of each academic term, in which interested women and sisters gets a chance to intimately get to know each other and see if we are a good match through several planned activities. At the end of this period, a formal bid (or invitation) will be extended to women which have demonstrated shared values and standards of philanthropic passions, good character, financial responsibility and leadership ability among others. For more information on the recruitment process, check out some FAQ.

STEP FOUR:

COMPLETE THE NEW MEMBER

EDUCATION PROCESS

Selected women will be given the opportunity to participate in our New Member Education Process, which lasts between 6 to 8 weeks. The purpose of this process is to help familiarize you with our history, traditions, values and prepare you to be a contributing member to the sorority. At the end of the process, you will be formally initiated into the sorority as a lifelong sister.

STEP FIVE:

STAY INVOLVED

Congratulations on taking the next step into your Everlasting Sisterhood journey. Make this experience your own, but remember, the more you put in - the more you get back.
